Customs officers in the Baltic found about 150 thousand packs of Belarusian cigarettes hidden inside the floor covering
148.5 thousand packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were found inside the floor covering by customs officers of customs post «Lesnoy Port» of the Baltic Customs.
A Saint Petersburg company tried to export a batch of goods to Germany. The goods "floor coverings made of non-porous vulcanized rubber" was moved in the container according to the declaration submitted to the Baltic Centre of Electronic Declaration. The risk of a high probability of false information was triggered.
During the inspection of the container with the X-Ray inspection complex, extraneous attachments in the cargo were identified. When opening the container, the customs officers found the plates of compressed rubber where were hidden packs of cigarettes. In total, 73 thousand packs of «Minsk» cigarettes and more than 75 thousand packs of «NZ» cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were found. The total weight of cigarettes exceeded 2.8 tons.
According to the revealed fact, the Baltic Customs initiated a case on an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 16.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
