Baltic customs officers detected 30 thousand packs of cigarettes without Russian excise stamps in wooden shelves
30 thousand packs of cigarettes without Russian excise stamps were revealed by the officers of Turukhtanny customs post of the Baltic customs.
The cargo - wooden hinged shelves - was declared for export to Belgium by a company registered in the Smolensk region. The risk of a high probability of declaring false information has been triggered in relation to the consignment.
During the container examination, using the inspectional screening complex, it was determined that the shelves have internal cavities with varying degrees of shading. When opening the container, customs officers revealed 864 wooden shelves, inside of which Minsk and Queen Menthol cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were concealed. In total, more than 30 thousand packs of cigarettes were seized.
On the fact of concealing goods from customs control, the Baltic Customs initiated an administrative case under Part 2 of Art. 16.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
