Business meeting with commercial attaché from Afghanistan Embassy in Moscow took place in Federal Customs Service of Russia
Upon an initiative of Afghan part, on July 24, 2019, a business meeting of officials from Federal Customs Service of Russia with business representative from Afghanistan Embassy in Moscow – Bari Rahman, and his colleagues took place.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation as well as peculiarities of national customs legislations. Representatives from Federal Customs Service of Russia elaborated the procedure of the use of preferential regime effective in relation to a row of countries on the territory of Eurasian Economic Union, informed of conducted reform for the creation of E-declaration centers and taken measures to facilitate customs procedures.
Russian party mentioned that in order for sound interaction of two countries in the field of customs affairs, it is necessary to create a relevant legal framework. In this regard, the parties agreed to take measures for early agreement and preparation for signing of a Treaty between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan concerning cooperation and mutual aid in customs affairs.
At the meeting conclusion, Russian customs officials congratulated the Embassy delegation on upcoming centenary of Afghanistan independence.
