The third meeting of the Turkey-Russia Joint Customs Committee was held in the city of Moscow
The third meeting of Turkey-Russia Joint Customs Committee was held on July 16, 2019 in the city of Moscow. The Russian delegation was headed by Mr. Vladimir Bulavin, the Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the Turkish delegation - by Ms. Gonca Yilmaz Batur, the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
The parties discussed topical issues about the implementation of "Simplified Customs Corridor" (SCC) project and agreed to ensure the possibility of registration within the framework of SCC goods for export from Russia to Turkey. The Turkish delegation expressed its readiness to complete the appropriate updating of customs information systems in the near future and to identify Turkish checkpoints at which the SCC mechanism will be applied to exports from Russia.
The heads of delegations exchanged opinions on a number of issues concerning trade and economic relations between Russia and Turkey in terms of competence of customs authorities. The parties reached an understanding on the situation with import to Russia of Turkish fruit and vegetable products, considered the problem of marine logistics routes transportation of products in the Azov-Black Sea basin, as well as control of its customs value.
At meeting the parties summed up the results of joint work and outlined directions for further cooperation in the field of law enforcement, exchange and analysis of statistics, risk management.
An important outcome of the meeting was the signing of a bilateral Action Plan for Mutual Recognition of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). The parties agreed to proceed with its practical realization in an expeditious manner.
The third meeting of the Working Group on Customs Methods Improvement and “Simplified Customs Corridor” Project Implementation of the Turkey-Russia Joint Customs Committee took place in June 2019, in the city of Novorossiysk.
