Import of cultural property into the Russian Federation, including for the period of temporary stay in the Russian Federation, should be declared at the customs in writing using passenger customs declaration.
Сultural property, documents of national archive funds and original archive documents included in the Single list shall be imported with the exemption from customs duties and taxes regardless of their value and weight, providing that their classification as such in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation is confirmed.
Customs declaring of imported items of cultural property shall be complemented by submission to the customs authority of a conclusion of authorized experts on classification of the item transferred as that of cultural property (the list of authorized experts is published on the website of the Ministry of Culture of Russia).
The website of the Ministry of Culture of Russia also contains the list of authorized experts carrying out the examination of imported cultural property at the airports of Moscow.
